announcement for the launch of Deptford.TV on 03/03/06

Deptford.tv is an audio-visual documentation of the regeneration process of the Deptford area in collaboration with SPC.org media lab, Bitnik.org, the Boundless.coop, Liquid Culture and Goldsmiths College.

Since September 2005 we started assembling AV material around the regeneration process of the Deptford area, asking community members, video artist, film-makers, visual artists and students to contribute statements, feedbacks, critiques of the regeneration process of Deptford.
This rough material as well as edited media content will be made available on the Deptford.TV database and distributed over the boundless.coop wireless network an open content license such as the creative commons and the gnu general public license.

In March 2006 Deptford.TV will launch with hands-on database filmmaking workshops to be held at a media lab installed at dek.spc.org in Greenwich. On the 25th of March a "best of" selection of the regeneration documentation will be screened on ³the boat² opposite the Laban Dance Centre and on public screens over the boundless.coop network.
On the 24th of march a walk will take place through the Deptford regeneration area past public screens which will distribute over the wireless network boundless the content produced during the Deptford TV database workshop; invited are all the people involved and interested in the regeneration process such as architects, members of the local communities, community activists, artists, students and more. The walk will be organised in collaboration with experts from the Centre for Urban Studies and Community Research (CUCR) as well as members of the community (Deptford Community Forum).

On the 25th of march a "remix" conference will be held at Goldsmith College. This conference will showcase the work of the Deptford.TV workshops and discuss the regeneration process in Deptford with architects, artists and people involved and/or interested in the process.
The workshops and events are free and open to all those interested to take part in this project.
